Dont forget features are great...... but from an IM perspective SEO friendly and analytics tracking (Magento has an Google Analytics API plugin) are top priorities!

As fas as concerning the Internet marketting, Magento Commerce is certainly an “SEO-friendly” shopping cart.

Yoast has even gone so far as to creating a beginner’s SEO guide for Magento which does a great job of covering some of the basic setup points for those setting up a Magento store that might not be attune to some of the intricacies with SEO on an eCommerce platform.

for details please follow here http://yoast.com/articles/magento-seo/ and http://www.blueacorn.com/magento-blog/m ... velopment/

Magento is certainly a “SEO-friendly” shopping cart. But if you have same products under multiple category, its other way around. No permanent solution to fix the duplciate URLs generating for same product.

I think I'll be able to come up with comparison chat with magento & X-cart. You can expect soon.

Would be interested in seeing what our own opinion is. Nice find on the comparison Sly but it is likely a bit off due to the fact its posted on XCARTS site.

Another item to throw into the evaluation process for shopping carts is plans for PCI compliance. Of course these major cart builders should have a strategy on this with the regulations that are being introduce between now and 2012.

Had a great talk with the developers of Interspire Shopping Cart today and this is the one we want to take for a test drive. They tell me it kills xcart in features and also that they are looking for strategic partners that specialize in deploying this solution.

Please have a look guys! Do a test and let me know the features!

I have a friend who uses it and LOVES it. When I was managing this product, I was using LiteCommerce (which is XCart). We later switched over to ZenCart and finally, this guy bought the product line from the company and is now using Magento. Having experienced all 3 carts with the same product line, he says Magento is miles above the others and took him 5 hours to set everything up and get all the products in. (He used a standard template he picked up as he is not a web designer). This is his site in action:

Although magento had some pretty good features, and easy to use..

As elan mentioned there are duplicate content issues in the programming, that the developers refuse to acknowledge and fix.

So, from an SEO perspective it gets a big thumbs down from me.

Using INTERSPIRE as an ecommerce cart

Guys please make special note that I added INTERSPIRE to this forum as an option that should be looked at NOT Magento.
