Postby Tina » Sun Oct 03, 2010 12:16 pm

You dont't spend much time for doing SEO for videos. Atleast not that much that you spend for other mediums. But a lot can be done to get a if you need one.
1) What's the title of your video?
2) Is the description effective?
3) Views?
4) Ratings?
5) Comments?
6) How is the Social Metrics?
7) Does the duration exceed seconds?
8) Tactics?
9) Does it have necessary transcriptions?

Video is judged by the same linking standards as all other forms of digital content. So building both internal and external links is crucial for video SEO.

Video SEO shares many similar traits to regular website search engine optimisation. The most important shared trait of these two, is that of keywords.Using keywords in your title is the most important part. Find out what your best keywords are by using a keyword tool, and try to use the strongest ones at the begining of your title.Use standard SEO tactics for your text content by using Tags correctly throughout your article for keyword prominence.

Tips for Video SEO

1. Use a keyword rich title for the transcript and be sure to include an introduction or summary that describes the video content in text form.
2. Keep a keyword friendly URL structure that uses a few of your main keywords in the url string.
3. Don’t forget to encode the keywords you’re targeting into your video.

Really some good points already given by the folks here i just want to add a basic tip that most of the time we ignored while doing Video SEO . If you plan to upload a video to both your site and video distribution sites like YouTube, be sure to post it to your site first. That way you can get links through the embed codes where possible and dont forget to cross link your video to other relevant videos that you have done. This will help all of your videos rank better and be more useful for your visitor, which always leads to more views.....

Thanks for the share though, even though a lot of this stuff is totally rehashed from other sources. Nothing new here. Would be especially good for beginners but for someone versed in the art it only acts as reminder of a few things. But thanks none the less.
