Matt Cutts talks about changing the name of Search Engine Optimization to Search Experience Optimization. Good points made here but either way we will all see it the same way.

It's great that Google has taken a positive stance on SEO. The idea of changing the name has been batted around over the years for just the reasons he points out. Stuff like rich snippets puts amazing tools in the hands of SEOs and developers to better present their content in the SERPs.
I've always liked the term "Inbound Marketing" - but it's a kind of broad term.
Educating clients on how best to leverage "RCS" (Real Company Stuff) that they do to have a positive impact on their search rankings is something I've brought up a bunch of times and now had some success with in a few of the client meetings I've been in on. Companies earning citations and links from doing things like supporting charities, getting media coverage, building professional relationships and generally being awesome is exactly what Google wants to see. However, all too often these opportunities are left on the table, when all that would be needed is asking for the link and/or citation.

Couldnt agree more with you here Mike! All Google wants is strong honest links. Building effective communication to getting them is the key to growth.
