14 ways to reduce your site's bounce rates

Postby kiran » Sun Nov 29, 2015 10:22 pm

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors that open a website and leave before spending an amount of time that is deemed significant by the search engine. It’s not to be confused with exit rates, which simply tell you the percentage of visitors that left the site from a page (i.e. they may have viewed other pages first).

Here Mr. Graham Charlton shares 14 interesting ways to reduce your site's bounce rates and to keep visitors from leaving your site and enticing them to stick around and view more pages.

1. Make sure your pages load quickly
2. Give visitors all the information they may need
3. Avoid clickbait
4. Avoid huge pop-ups and annoying ads
5. Use internal linking
6. Be careful with external links
7. Do not use pagination
8. Site design
9. Article formatting
10. Mobile-friendly pages
11. Site search and navigation
12. Related content recommendations
13. Most read/commented boxes
14. Make calls to action clear on landing pages
