Claim Authorship to Get Your Profile Picture in Google

Do you wonder how people are getting their author icon, profile and "More by..." links to appear in Google search results?

If it's possible to link up content to the author's Google+ account, it's a great bit of SEO. Really makes the page stand out in the results. Also it's not very common yet in a lot of niches.

Also, it's likely going to play an even bigger part in improving the visibility of content in the future, as this recent SEOmoz post covers:

Yes, Google will be giving more importance to Authorship, as this increases trust and visibility of content. Soon or later as mentioned in the , Google will slowly roll out the "AuthorRank" or also known as “", by this Google will be easily able to identify the people or author who are providing good quality content and thus finally giving a rank to these people.

I have tested this out in my blog & the screenshot provided above. Easy to implement in a wordpress site!

This really works, I tested this out:

Step 1: Search

Step 2 : After few minutes reading the post I used back button.

This means Google is measuring time-on-site to decide whether the visitor enjoyed reading the article.
